Bienvenue à la Block Party !

On pousse les murs du Supersonic jusqu’au bord de la Seine pour une balade entre la rue Biscornet et le port de l’Arsenal, entre post-punk, psyché solaire, pop rêveuse et indie rock turbulent... Le Supersonic va transformer les rues qui l’entourent en festival à l’anglo-saxonne, dans un esprit proche de ceux du SXSW à Austin ou du Great Escape à Brighton.

Trois jours du mois de mai à naviguer entre quatre lieux, pour découvrir les groupes cultes de demain, les formations coups de coeur de l’équipe du lieu et les fleurons d’une nouvelle scène rock flamboyante venus du monde entier ! Supersonic’s Block Party s’annonce comme un rendez-vous incontournable autant pour les nerds de musique que pour tous.tes les curieux.ses !

Maripool (18h50)
(Bedroom pop - Londres, UK)

Maripool is the moniker of Lisbon-born, London based songwriter Natacha Simões, a self-described “one girl band” who works entirely solo, writing and playing on her guitar-driven, bedroom-pop arrangements.

Beverly Kills (20h30)
(Post punk - Gothenburg, SWE)

With each and every release Beverly Kills, and their unstoppable and melodic post-punk, have garnered more international acclaim outside their hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden. They have received airplay from KEXP and national Swedish radio, highlighted by the likes of Jezebel, NBHAP and BrooklynVegan.

wych elm (22h10)
(Indie rock - Bristol, UK)

Bristol’s wych elm play scrappy, menacing and contemplative grungy indie rock with a touch of the macabre. Fittingly, the band formed to play a Halloween show in 2017 before releasing their debut EP two years later through new Bristol imprint Post Mortem Records, who sold 50 vinyl copies anonymously under the name Jane Doe in hand sewn cadaver bags. The release was a concise, considered and impactful collection of songs and earned them slots at Green Man, Truck and 2000trees festivals as well as support slots with the likes of Hotel Lux, Black Honey, Lice and Snail Mail. The band released their second EP ‘Rabbit Wench’ in September 2021 with the singles ‘Scolds Bridle’ and ‘Executioner’ receiving enthusiastic support from Jack Saunders on Radio 1, Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, John Kennedy on Radio X and KEXP in the US. The EP was well received pushing their total streams to over 2 million on Spotify. Following the release of the EP they joined IDLES and Wet Leg at a sold out O2 Academy Brixton in January 2022.
