Good Music x La Petite Halle Présent: Now Vs Now
Bidouilleur d'effets électrique, pianiste féru du Rhodes, Jason Lindner a prouvé en de multiples contextes qu'il était un homme de groove qui sait jouer out, dans le plaisir d'échappées bien barrées.

À propos
"Rhythm provides more than a heartbeat for Jason Lindner. It also seems to fuel his respiratory
functions and digestive activity, and maybe his neurons. What matters to him is groove, however it comes." - The New York Times
Brooklyn-native and winner of two Grammy Awards in 2017, Jason Lindner spent the late nights of his early teen years in jazz clubs, where he was taken-in by the old jazz masters in New York City: Frank Hewitt, Jimmy Lovelace, Gilly Goggins, all the old cats you never heard of because of hard times and hard luck, adds Jason. In his extensive career this young New York pioneer was musical director of Lauryn Hill and Meshel Ndegeocello, In addition to Now vs Now, Lindner leads the 11-piece art ensemble Breeding Ground and performs with Mark Guiliana's Beat Music, Dafnis Prieto's Proverb Trio featuring Kokayi, Donny McCaslin's electric band and Anat Cohen's jazz quartet. In 2015 and 2016 Jason became a keyboardist and a pivotal music part of David Bowie's music in the album Blackstar, with which Lindner won two Grammy's with that album in 2017.
Jason began experimenting with electric live bands early this millennium with a desire to create a new sound. He found solid connections with electronica-influenced drummer Mark Guiliana and Panagiotis Andreou, a bassist at the forefront of Latin and Eastern musical languages. There has been some overlap throughout the years: Andreou is Lindner's bandmate in the New York Gypsy All Stars, while Mark and Jason have a scattered history as sidemen with bassists Avishai Cohen and Meshell Ndegeocello. Mark is currently collaborating with Brad Mehldau in 'Mehliana'.
Virtuosic, analog art rock trio Now vs Now released Earth Analog (November 12th 2013 / Now vs Now Productions), the second album featuring keyboardist Jason Lindner, electronica and dub-influenced drummer Mark Guiliana and bassist Panagiotis Andreou, three friends who inspire and challenge themselves and their music beyond reasonable limits. The album came in at nr. 1 in the US and UK iTunes Jazz Charts and stayed there for over a week.
Produced and written by Lindner and arranged by the trio, the album is a soundtrack to an earth analog, a planet with biological conditions similar to those on planet earth. We imagine this album be the music the earth analog beings would have written or enjoyed, says Jason, an accomplished pianist and bandleader who found his voice on the Moog and analog sounds while working with Lauryn Hill, Chick Corea and Meshell Ndegeocello. (Meshell produced Now vs Now's debut album.)
On Earth Analog, the trio places more emphasis on song structure, rather than soloing and jamming.
